The Renfrew Center Foundation was established due to the strong need for public and professional awareness regarding anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder. Today, the Foundation is dedicated to the elimination of eating disorders through education, prevention, research, advocacy, and treatment.
Day Treatment offers intensive therapy for adolescents and women leaving residential care who require additional structure in order to continue their recovery or for patients whose clinical condition does not require acute residential care but can benefit from intensive structure and support.
Services offered include;
- Personalized treatment plan, including individual, family and group therapy
-Therapy groups are psychoeducational, psychodynamic or experiential and focus on such topics as self-esteem, substance use, grief and loss, sexuality, surviving trauma, family patterns, body image, interpersonal relationships, assertiveness, nutrition and eating patterns
- Group work and a therapeutic community are key elements
- Two meals per day
- Psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
